Really, guys?! Really.

NCAA Championship was looking hopeful as the Cards dominated #12 seed Arizona 103-64. Then on Sunday, after a pathetic attempt to stay tied with #2 Michigan state, they lost 64-52. Terrible. Absolutely horrible.

Hopefully next year they won't let their egos get into their heads so badly. It's pretty embarrassing for me and I'm just a spectator. I can't imagine being apart of the team that lost the #1 over-all seed against a #2.

Obama himself thought they'd make it farther than that! Way to go, Cards. Way to disappoint the President. After getting his heart broken by DeAnna Pappas from 'The Bachelorette,' Jason Mesnick moved on to be the leading man of "The Bachelor." From the looks of it Jason has definitely set his sights on Melissa Rycroft, a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. It is unusual for the show to so obviously display who the lucky proposal goes to, so Stacey and I checked to see what was up. According to much speculation, Jason does propose to Melissa; however, their engagement ends approximately two months later (the break-up will be featured on the After the Rose Ceremony episode next Monday) and begins dating Molly Malaney, the girl who was left broken hearted without a ring. In addition, word has it that ABC has been planning this all along.

This definitely made me say "Seriously?!?! Seriously." Why would a guy who seems to be such a respect-worthy gentleman do some crazy thing like that?! Hopefully on the After the Rose Ceremony Part 2 episode next Tuesday night he can save his dignity. Right now, he's lower than dirt in my book. I sure hope his son doesn't have to grow up with a father who did such a horribly shady thing. The poor kid already has experienced 4 of dad's women in his young 3 years.

Let's hope Jason has a little more class than ABC likes to reveal.

I survived Ice Storm '09

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5302018890165003570" style="FLOAT: left; We did the usual teenage stuff. Eat, walk aimlessly around a store being retarded, try to steal a shopping cart... It was fun.

Physics class started. Omg. I want to kill myself. I completely failed the quiz twice and I don't understand any of it. It would be really great if there was actually a teacher to teach us the dang subject. But oh well. I'll just pray and hope for the best.

I'm starting to kinda-sorta understand Calculus. I'm excited. It makes me hopeful. But it's still kind of tough.

I took the Spanish placement exam for UofL. I don't even qualify for the lowest level class. I would have to take intermediate classes before taking classes that actually counted towards a major. I was kind of disappointed. So I don't know about that Spanish minor...

Speaking of Spanish, I got the highest grade in the class on our latest quiz. I even beat Renee! I now have the highest grade on that quiz, and in the class! Woo!

Chelsie and I finalized our talent show song decision. Rush by Aly and AJ. We were pretty tired of the other song, so we changed it. We're still working out the kinks, but Mary should rest assured knowing that she's got some tough competition ready to kick her butt. :)

Chelsie, Dallas and I have formulated an ingenious, hilarious plan that hopefully will make for a GREAT blog if it works out as intended. But we'll have to wait and see. Muahaha.

I've been going to Shelby Christian on Sunday nights. I like it. I finally feel comfortable at a church and I actually voluntarily go there. I want to go. So it's good.

Life has been a roller coaster still, but gradually I'm getting back to my starting point. But if Mom doesn't get off menopause soon, we're gonna be having lots more problems...

Welp, see ya later.

a great day

So I'm not gonna lie.
Today was pretty great.

I was already in a good mood and was all giddy and stuff. And each morning this week has started off with a lil dose of Daniel so that always cheers me up. Go besties.

Well all the fun started in Calculus. I pretty much never know anything that's going on in that class and I hate every minute of it. Today all we did was take a survey so it wasn't so bad. Before break we took an amazingly difficult, amazingly ridiculous 7 question, 200 point mid-term exam that I was not excited about. I can never do the homework right, much less a whopping test! So today Daniel was all like "Mrs. Mac can we see our tests?" and I was like "NO! BURN THEM!" Well she showed us.

She graded them pretty leniently or else everyone would've failed. The highest grade in the class was 170/200 which is a B-. It was said that a couple of people got that. The lowest possible score based on how she graded it was a 130/200...and I was quite positive I got lower.

Renee was first to see hers, and go figure...170/200. More people that have better grades than me went. They were all disappointed. Daniel saw his and laughed that his terrible mid-term grade raised his even more terrible grade in the class. Then it was my turn.

I was not happy. I was like "oh no." It was not good. But then....I saw it.

170/200 baby!!!!!!!!!! Woooooo!!!!!
It lowered my Calculus grade, but I DONT CARE! I PASSED! With the highest grade!!!! Yay!!! I'm pretty sure I was the only idiot in the class who was excited about their score, haha. But that is A-OK.

So I had a high off of that until English... where it got even better!

We got to see our scores on the On-Demand test today. I'm no writer, so I was not looking forward to this either. But guess what! I got a Proficient! Woo! I am one of the happy people getting free pizza next week! :)

So that was today.
It was great.

Welp, see ya later.

4 months and 17 days until graduation

Today was my first day back to school after the holiday break.

I was pretty freaking excited.

No, I don't really like school. I was just excited knowing that graduation is creeping closer and closer. I can't wait.

Therefore, I had my first real, true happy day in a long time.
It felt great.

Chelsie and I even made up a song that we're thinking about putting on a CD and distributing to the seniors. Maybe even sing it at graduation...who knows?

In the end, I'm just super excited to finish high school. This year I've enjoyed my life's greatest memories as well as it's worst.

I entered the new year starting a new relationship on January 5th that I never knew would end up how it did. My life was going the way I'd always hoped it would and everything was perfect. I kept up with everything in FCCLA and still had time to watch my boyfriend kick butt in track. I said goodbye to my last great grandparent, but am fully and happily aware that God's taking much better care of her in heaven.

However, God did manage to throw in a reality check. I nearly lost my life in a car accident on April 11th. I will never understand why that happened, but I will always know it happened for a reason. I've been told by school companions that my wreck slowed them down, so if I helped save one life, then it was worth it. To me anyway.

I continued enjoying life and celebrated my much anticipated 17th birthday. I was still happy and had developed an even closer relationship to my best friend, Stacey but had begun to drift farther and farther away from my 10 year long friendship with Daniel. I still kept my head up high, especially since I was beginning to fall madly in love.

I took an exciting trip to Ohio with Stacey and had a taste of independence. Of course we still had an adult with us since neither one of us was 18, but it was still great to experience. I must say, those were some of the best days I have ever had.

I then started my final year of high school knowing exactly what I wanted to do with my life. I had a college picked out, an intended major decided and a career plan in mind. I was ready to graduate but knew that there was still much time to go. I slowed down on FCCLA involvement, especially after sadly losing presidency to my future roommate.

I then lost the most important thing to me in my life on November 15th. That break-up is/was the most heart breaking thing I have ever experienced. No wreck could ever hurt me more than this has, and no person could ever hurt me more than he did. I still struggle with it everyday and have yet to find the optimism in this situation. It is the hardest thing I've ever had to go through and it has definitely put my heart and my relationships to a test.

I will end the year trying unsuccessfully to be optimistic. I have loved and I have lost and I have lived everything in between. Overall, this has been the best year of my life, but it's definitely difficult to say that after the way the past month and a half has been.

Regardless of what has happened in 2008 and what will happen in the year to come, I must always remember that I survived. I lived through it all and now I'm strong enough to face whatever will come at me next. No, it won't be easy, but I will be able to do it. With only 5 months until graduation, it's time to realize what's important in my life and what I have learned over the 17 amazing years I have lived. It's time to realize and appreciate the wonderful family I have, the roof over my head, the abundance of food in my kitchen, and the great education I am so privileged to receive.

2009 withholds a new, exciting chapter of my life and I can't wait to see what God has in store for me this year.

the pursuit of happiness.

No matter what crap happens to me in this world,
there are always two things that make me smile.

family christmas.

So Friday was the Hoppes family Christmas. Instead of doing normal gifts, we do $5 gag gifts. Remember the good 'ol boot I almost died to retrieve? Haha...yeah...

Briquelle and I teamed up as one for the gag gift thing cuz well yeah we both went on a crazy adventure for it. And so we're anticipating who's gonna grab our boot when up came our turn.

We easily agreed on the one with the foofy top. :)

We got a rubber chicken! Literally, we both almost died laughing because we both have always wanted a rubber chicken, and BAM!

So while we were still laughing, up comes Grandma ready to pick out her gift! Guess freaking what. She picked the boot. Oh my gosh I haven't laughed that hard in so long. We were hoping like Uncle Rick or someone would get it. No. Grandma. It was hilarious.

So long story short....

I traded a dirty, smelly boot for partial custody of a rubber chicken.

Nice.

overrated.

I don't have a clue where this topic came from, but oh well.

I started thinking about all the many things that are completely overrated.
(To me, anyway.)

1. Holidays. They're pretty cool I guess, but it's one day out of the year dedicated to something random. Like Halloween...I love candy, but no wonder obesity thrives in America. Or St. Patrick's day...It's just an excuse to hurt someone. Now I like holidays, but some people get extreme with them. I love holidays that have meaning (AKA Easter and Christmas) but people take it overboard. Like Christmas, c'mon. Yes, I love getting presents just as much as the next person, but that's not the point. Say for one year no one bought a single Christmas present...dude people would go into chronic depression. It would be bad. It's easy to say "I'd be fine if no one bought me a present" but I'm sure it's way harder to live it.

2. Birthdays. I don't know why but I always look so forward to my birthday. And guess what. Every year I cry because I'm so disappointed. What the heck. Other people don't care that it's my birthday just as much as I don't care about theirs. Sorry, fact of life. Now kids, yes. Little kid birthdays are always fun and exciting. But past age like...10, it's all downhill.

3. Most food. People are crazy about food. And most of the time we don't even notice. Food really usually isn't that amazing but people like chow down and get fat because of it. I don't get it. I'm the same hungry person that eats enough to feed 5 people, but really it's not anything to get heart disease over. It's good...but it's not THAT good.

4. College. Not everyone is meant to go to college. Period. I personally wouldn't know what to do with myself if I didn't go, but it certainly isn't for everyone. Many people have made millions and never had a single college class. Now, will power, that's another thing. Anyone can survive without going to college, but no one can without will power.

5. iPods. That one's random, but seriously. The capability to listen to music all day, every day, 24/7 via a tiny box...eh. I don't get it. I've never really been into portable cassette tape players, walkmans, or iPods/mp3 players. Just not my thing, I guess.

6. Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana. Period. I'm sorry, but the girl can't sing. And she shouldn't be taking way too provocative pictures with her dad...that's just gross.

Random list, I know. But that's how my mind works...randomly.

almost forgot!

So in my weekender blog I almost forgot the most hilarious part! The ride to/from Shelbyville!

To:

So Briquelle picked me up and Dad whipped out the good 'ol map to tell us where to go. We were trying out a new road. Nice. So we're like okay....we'll wing it.

Well seeing how it's Kentucky there are deer. There were like 3 and they were standing on the side of the road and speedy, city-slicker Briquelle was driving and they ran out towards the car and she freaked out. "OMG! WHAT, ARE THEY STUPID?!! WHY DID THEY JUST RUN TOWARDS MY CAR?!!!! WHAT THE HECK!?! WHY DID THEY JUST DO THAT?!!!?!!" Omg. It was hilarious. Then she started hyperventilating and almost passed out. Geez.

Sooooo we're driving still and what not and there's this big ugly boot on the side of the road and at the same time we're like "AH! We should go get it!!" So guess what. We turned around.

Briquelle stopped in the middle of the road and I went out to retrieve the piece of disgusting and a car was coming up. So as I was running back to the car Briquelle starts going forward and almost runs over me! What?!?! Hahaha, it was funny though. So the car behind us thought we were nuts.

From:

1st we found this:

Then some random car behind us was like riding our tail. It was like a 55 and we were going like 75 and they were still close. So Briquelle slowed way down and the old man was like WTFAJASFASd. So then he finally passed, flipping us off. Right in front of his young child in the front seat. Beautiful example. Well we started riding his tail and he like adjusted his rear-view mirror and everything and was ready for a fight. It was a mess.

But yeah. That was the part I left out.

Welp, later.

most random weekend ever.

Yeah so I'm quite sure this has been the most random weekend of my life.

Friday I went to Sierra's party in Lexington.
I'll leave out all the details except that I didn't go to bed until like 8 in the morning and had to wake up at 10. Ughhh.

And Kenny Delver: Leave Stacey alone! You are a horny fag and she does not want you! Back off or I'll have to deal with you myself!

Well Saturday after I had like two freaking hours of sleep, I came home, got ready and had to go to an FCCLA thing. Go freaking figure.

So I was there...yadda yadda.

THEN. Uh omg. I went on a double date with Jessica, Cody and a guy I've never met ever in my life named Steven. Totally freaking random. It was basically 3 rednecks...and me. Yeah. Weird. I had fun, but not in a date kind of way. It was totally weird.

Well I didn't come home from that until like 1 AM and had to wake up at 8:45. Ugh me + no sleep = not freaking good. I was not nice.

Went to church, then went home, got re-ready and went to Shelbyville with Briquelle. What a funny ride.

Anyways, we went to Christmaspaloozafestivaspartyextravaganza 2008 with Shelby Christian and it was fun. Kind of funny sometimes though. Hey Briquelle, where are you going? They had an eggnog drinking contest and it was sooo gross. And we were all outside watching people puke while it was like 9 degrees outside. Fun.

After that we were gonna go to Grace's house, but she wasn't there yet so we were like dang. So we sat at Kroger parking lot until we figured out what to do.

Finally Tristan and his sister came and we all went to Waffle House.

(Tristan ^ ... Don't ask why we took this picture.)

Random. It was interesting. Especially with the very serious buisness meeting going on... I mean c'mon you have to have the perfect spot for your band's show so that all 10 people are comfortable and not gonna cause problems. I mean, seriously. It's business meeting worthy.

Well Tristan and Anna were like mega chain smoking so when we left we smelled awful, but we were used to it by then so we didn't notice it. Grace sure did though and Febreezed us! Fun...

We went to the apartment and partied with Peck and Reece and laughed at funny scene kids' love stories. I learned that if you've been together for a month, it's love. Especially if he buys you everything. I just wanna know who gets the cat, Link, when they break up. Haha...

Then today we went to the Serenity Center in Shelbyville to deliver food to old people. I was expecting like a heartwarming, moving experience, but all we did was hand a lady a fruit basket.

We went to Sam's Place afterward to eat and omg the waitress was saying something...I don't even remember...but she accidently said shit and gasped and was like omg I'm so sorry. It was funny. So because of that we got an extra chicken tender and an extra Mt. Dew. Nice.

Briquelle and I left Shelbyville and headed out to Bardstown. If we had gone another way, it would've taken us...oh...maybe 20-30 minutes? No, instead we took the long way and were on the road for 2 freaking hours. WHAT!?! Yeah, not excited.

Finally we got there and got Blake and went to AT&T to get expert opinions on certain phones, then headed over to el Jimador's. We pulled up to the road and Blake was like "OMG that sign just said 'R U Poop!' " We thought he was kidding so we, of course, checked it out for ourselves. Yup. That's what it said alright. Pretty funny.

Well we ate and everything and the waitress pretty much loved Blake and went to the bathroom before we left. We walked out and Briquelle was like "Did anyone get the ticket?" and we were all like "No..." Haha we went back to our table to go find it, and I'm pretty sure they were looking for us. They were probably getting ready to send the cops after us. Haha it was awkward...

After an exciting time at Wal-Mart and Blake peeing in my yard, I finally got to go home.

What a weekend.

Welp, see ya later.

ramblings

WELLLLL I've definitely had an exciting few days.

I met Brandon's girlfriend.
She's nice.

I finally almost am done re-loading everything back to my computer and getting it back to normal. Rodney had to format it because it had a whomping virus. So fun stuff, gotta do EVERYTHING all over again.

I finally finished my stupid AP English project. UGH!

Talent show: January 30th. I'm flippin scared out of my freaking mind.

Tomorrow will be snow day number 2. Today was number 1. Woo! But that's enough snow days... I want to graduate on time!

I've finally declared myself DONE with putting up with Jake's crap! NO MORE! I deleted his number, took him off my MySpace... I'M DONE! I never deserved to be treated like crap in the first place, I'm definitely not gonna keep putting up with it!

...But I will admit. Getting over him is tough. :(

On a lighter note, I have an exciting, busy weekend ahead. Friday I have school, a State Degree Meeting, I'm working a basketball game, THENNN heading over to Lexington for a rockin party at Sierra's. I'm gonna be Stacey's sober friend and laugh at all the retarded drunks. Then when I come back Saturday morning, I have to get ready, go to the FCCLA officer party then go on a double date with a guy I've never met! Haha! It should be interesting... At least it'll be a double date, so if he sucks I have Jessica to talk to!

But yeah.

I've been pretty pathetic lately. But I'm ready to move on and be happy again.

And with the help of my AMAZING friends... it'll happen quickly :)

talent show auditions.

Well... we wung it... winged it... We were pretty much the only idiots that knew how to stay on key. I think I've gone tone deaf after that experience. Detention kids asked if they could shut the door so that they wouldn't have to hear the auditions and the teacher insisted it was apart of their punishment haha.

Funny stuff.

But we did it. Boo.

Now we actually have to find music and practice for the real deal in January. Lame. Chelsie of course signed up for it, then wasn't feeling it. Me, joking, was like we should sing Bohemian Rhapsody for the talent show! And she was like yeah!

Well in English today we decided we actually are singing in the talent show. Chemicals React by Aly & Aj. A song I literally had never heard before in my life. And guess what... Auditions are tomorrow.

So I came home and spent an hour downloading the song so I could learn it. Yikes. Chelsie got lyrics and the chords - she's playing guitar. WELLLL I was all like hey, we should practice. Yeah, she's too busy. GAH!

So basically. We don't have music. We haven't practiced. And we're basically gonna wing it tomorrow.

The chemicals so react.

twilight...

I just finished reading Twilight.

I liked it, I guess.

But it would've been much better if the timing wasn't so dreadful.

Having to stop mid-sentence because of tears rushing down my face isn't exactly how I pictured myself reading it. I wasn't as insanely excited as everyone else, seeing how I haven't read the books and didn't know anything about the story line. My friend, Chelsie, invited me to go with her and a group to shed light on the recent depressing events of my life. So I was like hey, why not, it's not like I'll have plans!

So Chelsie and Amber bought the tickets earlier that week and good thing, because they were sold out the very next freaking day. What?! Yeah, crazy. Well Friday Amber came to pick me up in her dad's van after getting Renee and Paul, and we were then off to grab Chelsie.

Chelsie was showing off this mega hideous jacket her mom got her that is so tacky but I love it regardless. But that's beside the point.

We were meeting Carolyn at the theater at like 6:30 (our movie started at 7:10) and before we got to the theater we went to Dairy Queen and Walmart and finally showed up at...oh I'd say around..6:10. There was already a freaking line there. AND GUESS WHAT! It was all middle schoolers!! WHAT?! Gah.

Chelsie and I split an expensive small bag of stale popcorn and we wait and wait and wait until finally they let us all in. Okay, we have 6 freaking people, so we're like gah we gotta get seats together! Luckily we did and so it was great.

The crowd of middle schoolers were all sporting their Twilight t-shirts and were freaking taking pictures of the screen with their cell phones! What?!? Why would you do that?!

ANYways...when the movie finally got ready to start all those silly little retarded middle school chicks were obnoxiously squealing. It was so annoying. And the squealing didn't stop there! Oh no! Anytime something cute or romantic or anything happened they would like have panic attacks. It was lame. Haha, and the old guy behind us (who was obviously brought there against his will) was saying comments like "Yeah that pick-up line actually works!" and "Douche!!" It was funny.

I really liked the movie, but I still need to read the books haha!

Afterwards, we were gonna go bowling, but there were like 17 groups ahead of us so we were like umm not waiting that long. So we drove around for a while. Went back to Walmart. Boring crap.

WELL THEN.

Amber took Carolyn home and was in the process of taking Chelsie home when she's all like "Oh! Chelsie! Show me where C_ _ _ _ lives! So Chelsie agreed and told her once she got to his house, to keep going and turn around at the end of the road.

We to the guy's house and there was a car riding our butt. Chelsie told Amber to keep going and NO. She freaking pulled up in the driveway! So all us passengers were like "Ohh... my... gosh.." and ducked down haha. Well the car behind us pulled up in the driveway as well and ended up being the guy's dad! Chelsie is telling Amber to turn around and not stop and talk and stuff. Well that didn't happen. The girl rolls down the window and STARTS TALKING TO THE GUY'S DAD! WHAT!?!?! WHAT WAS SHE THINKING?!!? So we were all totallyyyy embarrassed. And it gets worse!

The conversation went something along the lines of this:
Amber: Hey!
Guy's Dad: Hey, I didn't know it was you! I was just making sure someone didn't need anything!
Amber: No, we just wanted to see where C_ _ _ _ lived!
Guy's Dad: Well he lives here alright!
Amber: Is he home?
Guy's Dad: No he's not actually, he's out with friends. (aka...getting schwasted)
Amber: Oh, okay. Well tell him Amber T____ and some friends stopped by.

WHAT!!?!?! Whoaaa buddy. WE innocent bystanders did NOT want to see his house; therefore, do not mention that we stopped by! Only you!

It was so embarrassing!! But so funny at the same time... oh geez.

Amber called him later on after she dropped me off and told him what had happened. Ugh. Embarrassing.

Well that was the peak of my weekend. Pretty hilarious.

a goal that won't be met.

well... it's over.

update... again.

I am terrible about regularly posting. So here's a post... and there's another new one right before this one.

Well here's my life as of now:
I toured UofL's campus and totally freaking love it. I love the Speed school and I love the closeness of campus... gah! It makes me mega excited! I also got a picture of an albino squirrel so I should be getting a wicked sweet shirt in the mail shortly. I will be staying at Bettie Johnson Hall. It's basically an apartment. I have my own bedroom and bathroom, and I'll be sharing a living room and kitchen with my roommate. I love it and it has a pool!

I'm shooting towards a masters in Chemical Engineering. I hope to minor in Spanish, but I'll have to wait and see. But, because I am doing engineering, I'll be stuck at UofL in the summer too. Bummer. I'm not planning on working at UPS anymore. I think I'll overdo myself that way. So hopefully scholarships will love me so I don't stay in debt until I'm 100 just because I want to get a masters degree and go to med school.

The boyfriend and I are still together. It'll be 10 months tomorrow. I'm excited about that. He just turned 18. And voted for the first time today.

I got my Senior pictures back and I love them. They are beautiful and it makes me mega happy.

I have A's in all my classes (including AP Calculus!) so that really makes me happy and proud of myself. It's been kinda tough but it'll be worth it in the end!

I went to a dermatologist. I have eczema on my legs. It's not like anything terrible or tragic or remotely bad, it's just funny to me that I have eczema. It just sounds like a major serious thing that only old people get.

I am really tired of hearing about the presidential candidates. So I'll be super stoked after today when they finally stop roaring back and forth and interviewing and everything. What's meant to happen, will happen. And people, stop dogging on George Bush! He's not the only one in D.C. In case you didn't noticed there's also Congress. Bush isn't solely the reason why our nation's in bad shape right now; Congress agreed to whatever the heck he proposed. It's a team effort so stop dogging on one piece of the pie.

That's about all I can think of.
Ciao for now!

wish list

It's barely November and stores are already filled with Christmas stuff. This speedy transition influenced me to compile a wish list myself. It's pretty much just stuff for college (especially since I have an apartment with a kitchen and my own bathroom in addition to a bedroom to myself), but it has an overall very very obvious theme. It is also not solely a "Christmas" list. But a Christmas...thanksgiving...hanukkah...birthday...graduation...you-love-me...list. Some of it is also thrown in because it's silly... but that doesn't mean I wouldn't just love to own it!
(# of *'s=how much I want it!)

Desk Stuff
***http://shop.sanrio.com/hello-kitty-desk-calendar/52894-200805,default,pd.html
*http://shop.sanrio.com/hello-kitty-scissors/86873-200701,default,pd.html
http://shop.sanrio.com/hello-kitty-shredder/05810-200801,default,pd.html
**http://shop.sanrio.com/hello-kitty-organizer/00103-200801,default,pd.html
**http://shop.sanrio.com/hello-kitty-wall-clock/86883-200808,default,pd.html
**Pink Stapler

Bedroom Stuff
*http://www.target.com/Hello-Kitty-Slumber-Party-Pillow/dp/B0013I00KI/sr=1-3/qid=1225843798/ref=sr_1_3/178-3700565-2516256?ie=UTF8&index=target&field-browse=1038616&rh=k%3Ahello%20kitty&page=1
**http://www.target.com/Hello-Kitty-Princess-Lamp-Shade/dp/B0002DSV42/sr=1-1/qid=1225844095/ref=sr_1_1/178-3700565-2516256?ie=UTF8&index=target&field-browse=3151061&rh=k%3Ahello%20kitty&page=1
***http://www.target.com/Hello-Kitty-Sleeping-Clock-Night-Light/dp/B0013OMKRI/sr=1-3/qid=1225844399/ref=sr_1_3/178-3700565-2516256?ie=UTF8&index=target&field-browse=1038598&rh=k%3Ahello%20kitty&page=1

Kitchen Stuff
http://shop.sanrio.com/hello-kitty-cooking-set/33376-200807,default,pd.html
*http://shop.sanrio.com/hello-kitty-oven-mit/33491-200807,default,pd.html
http://shop.sanrio.com/hello-kitty-toaster/51505-200406,default,pd.html
***Pots, pans, baking dishes, skillets, spatulas, measuring cups...the works.

Extras
*http://www.target.com/Girls-Hello-Kitty-Earmuff-Gloves/dp/B001A4815G/sr=1-19/qid=1225843676/ref=sr_1_19/178-3700565-2516256?ie=UTF8&index=target&rh=k%3Ahello%20kitty&page=1
****Pretty Much Any Gift Card
**Pink Hangers
**Cleaning stuff (swiffer... pledge... toilet cleaners... anything)

It's quite a big list and I'll be adding to it gradually. I have amazing news!

After a long, hard day at school, I finally got to come home. Well I totally fell in love and was super stoked when I got a copy of their CD (which, by the way, was only $10, and in a paper cover, not the snazzy plastic kind). Briquelle actually talked to one of them afterward, which is cool on her part.

Well, like 3 months ago, Metro Station's fan base like sky rocketed. No joke.

First, their CD was being sold at Hollister, which was alright I guess. Now, I'll just have to go digging through couches to get extra money for a ticket to their show.

Then, their song "Shake it" started being played on the radio. Not too bad. I'll just have to sell my cat to get extra money for a ticket.

Then everything went nuts. One of the band members is Miley Cyrus's brother... yeah, woohoo. She appeared on Oprah and told the world that Metro Station was her favorite band. So, every girl in America began liking them. While walking 100 miles to the concert, I'll just have to sell my car to get extra money for a ticket.

After that, CosmoGirl magazine told readers that Lauren Conrad listened to Metro Station at her photoshoot, and their next issue features an entire page dedicated to Metro Station. Eh, I'll just have to sell a kidney to get extra money for a ticket.

In July it was my goal to go to their concert. The ticket was like $22ish. Not bad, but that was before everyone and their mother found out that Metro Station existed.

Lucky me.

Boy, how things change. And I'm still sitting at home writing a complaint-filled blog instead of finding my way to stardom. Which WILL happen someday...hopefully.

cross your fingers

Today my entire U of L application is officially sent in.
(I applied online last week and didn't send the transcript in until today).

I'm pretty excited and anxious to see what happens.
(And I have my super important application out of the way, in SEPTEMBER!)

:] yay me.

last first day

Today was my last first day of high school.

I've been dreading it all summer. Not because I don't want to leave high school, because I'm super stoked about that, but because I just flat out hate high school. I'm ready for change.

Last night I was totally bummed and woke up 30 minutes before my alarm clock got the opportunity to ruin my day. So I wasn't happy. Couldn't go back to sleep so I sat up, enjoyed a tasty granola bar, and went on with my morning routine.

Daniel called while I was straightening my hair. The conversation went something like this:

Daniel "What time are you going to school?"
Kaly "I don't know. Soon probably because I'm almost ready."
Daniel "Well, I don't want to go by myself."
Kaly "Haha, me neither! How about whoever shows up first, waits for the other one?"
Daniel "Okay, sounds good. Wow, we're seniors and we STILL can't go to school on the first day by ourselves!"
Kaly "I know. We're so lame."

Haha and that's what we did.

I showed up first at like freakin 7:45. Who the heck shows up half an hour before they need to when they drive to school?!!? So I was like cool I'll wait for Dani-boy. Daniel and myself snagged parking spots behind the FCCLA room because we're amazing, so I had to go beat down the door in hopes that someone could hear and would let me in. Well they didn't. I felt pretty lame. I stood outside for like 10 minutes waiting for someone to come open the dang door! Mrs. Farmer finally came and opened it. Thank goodness.

I went and checked on the cupcakes. But you don't know why. Mwahaha.

Then Daniel showed up and we went into the gym together because we're pathetic. Ha ha.

Yeah I totally forgot about the CHAIRS that seniors get to sit in during assemblies, and on the first day of school. So we were immediately stoked. YEAH CHAIRS! We waited 12 years for that moment. It was great. Beats the hard wooden bleachers. Haha, not really, but oh well.

My schedule rocks and I had the best freaking first day, ever. I loved it and I'm freaking excited about this school year. =D

overachiever

Well I finished all of my AP stuff last week. Then I found out I have 5 FREAKING AP classes. So I have more AP summer stuff to do, unless I can drop AP Biology. Which hopefully I can. I also met our new Spanish teacher. She spoke only in Spanish. Therefore, her future students were very confused and ceased conversation immediately. Little does she know, we've learned next to NOTHING over the past 2 years. This should get interesting.

Also, on Tuesday Stacey and I returned from our fun-filled trip to Sandusky, Ohio. Cedar Point was amazing beyond all reason. And I have now seen one of five Great Lakes. Lake Erie to be exact. Stacey and I participated in numerous death-defying stunts that we would never have ever done ever before, so it was super exciting. We rode mega-insane rides and did that bungee cord thing-which was one of the funnest things I've ever done. We bought 2 of the pictures from the roller coasters, so hopefully we can get those scanned soon so I can put them on here. They're pretty freaking hilarious pictures. And I discovered I have a mad crazy love for seagulls.

Meanwhile, check out these snazzy pics:

This is Stacey and I. Finish the AP assignments.

I can proudly say that I am almost finished. I do believe I will meet the July 23rd deadline. All I have to do for Hamlet is re-write stuff I wrote down. Huck Finn all I need to do is finish writing the plot summary that I have typed up onto notecards. The Awakening... well I haven't started on that one yet, but it's no biggie. There's only one assignment for it and it's not that terrible.

2. Lee (Stacey's over 18 year old aunt that we're bringing along) wasn't going to be able to take off work, but luckily she found someone to take her spot. Tickets were sold out quickly because of these silly little 14 year olds that just now started liking them. Psh I knew Metro Station before they were on the radio. I knew them when tickets to their show was like $13. I knew them when you silly little girls didn't. Yeahh buddy I'm excited. I'm so ready to graduate and go to college. I can't wait! I'm still planning on being a dermatologist, but unfortunately I discovered that UK doesn't have the dermatology program I need, so I think I'm gonna end up going to U of L. Eh slightly disappointing, but I'll make it through I guess.

My best friend graduated high school with lots of honors. I'm very proud of her but sad that she's leaving me. I'll miss my Stacey. :[

My birthday just came and went. June 3rd. It was nice I guess. I actually went and did something. So now I'm 17. Yay me! Thanks to everyone for sending me cards and presents!

I'm officially healed! No more doctor visits, no more meds, no more walker, no more restrictions! Woohoo!

I've been on a Grease-watching, cleaning room phase lately. I'm becoming OCD about having a clean room. It's pretty intense, but it's productive and better than sitting on the couch all day. (ahem... Brandon.)

I've started stretching and doing crunches daily. Not too physical, but better than nothing I suppose. I'm hoping to get to be as flexible as I was back in my cheerleading days.

I'm still with my hot piece of man candy. Jake and I recently celebrated our 5 month anniversary haha! He's my favorite. No lie.

I'm looking forward to camp this year. As usual. by.

i finally have my license after a depressing, failed first time, and well driving to school and mcdonalds has been great, haha! i get to drive to school on tuesdays and thursdays when i tutor, and other random days if i get lucky. however, i don't get my snazzy car until like... my birthday. bummer.

¡tengo un novio! happy announcement: i have a boyfriend. as of saturday. it's been like a year since the last one so it's pretty exciting, i must say! i like him a lot. but i have a very annoying brother-in-law that kind of ruins things sometimes. AHEM.

i'm pretty excited about winter retreat next weekend and phantom of the opera the weekend after that. i've been crazy busy lately with teen night and fccla and meetings made it out of the parking lot because i didn't "completely" stop.

pfft.

the guy referred to himself as the grinch for failing so many people and im thinking, you ain't kiddin!

so i basically cried the whole day. it sucked.

today was the hoppes family christmas. usually one big heaping mass of fun, and this year was no different from the rest.

the youngins had a time opening their gifts and we teens were next.

i had some cards sitting in my chair so i opened those first. la dee dah normal cards and some bucks in there and whatnot.

next i picked up the greatest present i think i have ever gotten in my whole freakin life.

it was from my cousin, briquelle. it was all shiny and spiffy, and really light.

i opened it up with eli's help and opened up the box to find random peppermints and an envelope saying "i'm giving you an envelope for christmas. congrats. enjoy =)" and im thinking... what is she up to.

so i opened the envelope to find a piece of paper folded like an envelope saying "annoyed yet? don't be =)". i opened that paper to find a small speck of wrapping paper. wow. i was stoked right? i had no clue what was coming.

i opened up the wrapping paper and i freaked out.

my amazing cousin got me a ticket to see the phantom of the opera.

holy freakin cow i was excited out of my mind and i still can't get over it. it's seriously like the greatest present ever ever ever. i didn't even care about all the other stuff after i opened that and i was sooooooooo excited.

right now, i do believe i am the happiest person alive.

january 26th is much too far away though i must say...
'the drake'

in complete boredom i decided to google some of my friends. drake was the lucky numero uno.

i came across a drake university, pretty exciting i must say. i didn't know it existed.

next came the funniest thing i've heard all day....

drake magazine: a grassroots journal for flyfishing enthusiasts.

oh my gosh i could not stop laughing. so i HAD to go to this site and check it out, and the site's title up top says "flyfishing magazine for those who fish". hahaha how redundant! i seriously couldn't stop laughing about this crazy magazine for like 10 minutes. i went to mom and requested an issue, but im not so sure she was up for it.

i then decided to check out the snazzy stuff they were selling. they didn't even have flyfishing stuff! it was like shirts, hats, issues and feeding time.

haha i had a good laugh for the day. you probably would too if you were there.

oh and before i go, this is really important:

feeding time is a 50-minute movie featuring some of the most creative and innovative flyfishing footage ever assembled. nothing like this has ever been attempted in the flyfishing industry.
the dsl.

i have decided that i will no longer be the last person in washington county without dsl.

my family has a long, on-going tradition of being the last to have all the fun new technologies most people get within a week...or year of their release.

just in my life, i can remember not having a brand spanking new sega genesis until they were in consignment shops. dvd player... heck ours are so new, we have a grand total of about 10 dvds that the family shares, and my brother has gobs stashed away in his room for no one to know exists. satellite, well long after i learned and memorized my classmates's daily satellite TV watching schedule, i was able to develop one on my own. even with that, there's only one satellite hook-up in the house. the rest of the TVs still suffer displaying the regular aired channels.

internet was a big whopper in the household and it was nice having it. back then, most people had the phone-line tying up world wide web that was a tad on the slow side. well guess what. we still have it. springfield is supposed to provide fast-internet for all of washington county, but who knows when that'll actually take place.

in the meantime, i'm still a dedicated user of the dsl. the finish a morbid, macabre, crazy book. 'moonlight becomes you' by mary higgins clark. not too bad i must say, but it's nothing compared to 'a cry in the night' which btw is an awesome book written by her as well.

i'll now retreat back to reality and get off the net. back to sitting... staring... and effortlessly hoping for something exciting to happen.

rambles

well today was my first day of 'tutoring' if you could call it that. i basically made myself look like an idiot cuz i wasn't real sure what to say or do. she asked me some questions and i answered them, but hey i tried! hopefully things will get easier.

oh and btw for ye who are concerned: my thumb is still swollen and bruised from that madxcore game of foosball. but hey i won. so its all good!

i ♥ ATL

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5136614356603569554" style="FLOAT: left; since it was about 2 AM by this point!

it provided many of the usual things as all other hotels, except about 3x smaller. we even got a refrigerator! the door was hard to open, but hey once you got in you had a nice view of 'Frank TV', some random Atlanta buildings and the mess inside the neighboring building.
<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5136614579941868962" style="FLOAT: right; yet but i must say i am a little jittery about the whole thing. i borrowed a spanish 1 teacher's edition book from señora rouse-a-roni and looking back at it, i couldn't believe how much i have actually learned over these few years. after all this time thinking i hadn't learned a thing and that i was basically a failure at spanish, i know now that i pretty much know that spanish 1 book like i know the back of my hand.

what a feeling.
